Amy King is the Mesothelioma Research Programme Manager for the new Leicester Mesothelioma Research programme which focuses on advancing effective therapy for this cancer. Amy undertook her MSc in Clinical Research whilst working full time and was awarded the Best Student prize. She is a home grown member of the cancer research team at Leicester with over 10 years’ experience in the field including; financial and contractual negotiation, regulation and ethical conduct. Amy has successfully opened approximately 200 multi-phase, commercial and academic cancer clinical trials hosted by Leicester hospitals during her career. She specialises in research development, study set-up and trial conduct and is proficient in unravelling complex systems to ensure accelerated access into clinical trials. Using her broad knowledge of research process, her focus now is on establishing Leicester as an international leader in mesothelioma research excellence.
